I contacted Shauna in early fall this year about a large staff event that I was helping to plan alongside a committee. The event about mental health awareness, building resiliency and coping with stress due to the nature of the job this organization is involved with. Shauna was prompt with all our communications and was happy to facilitate our ever-changing needs. When planning an event that has a projected total of 200 people attending, the planning can be a bit chaotic. She was more than happy to accommodate the changing demands, timelines and even dates! When the event finally came, herself and her lovely dog Moro were on time and greeted us with happy faces (and a wagging tail). The plan was to allow staff members to engage with a therapy dog while getting the opportunity to walk around outside as a large part of the event was indoors. Shauna mapped out a lovely route that went through parks and finished with a seaside walk. Following the event, the feedback received from those who participated with Healing Hounds was hugely appreciated. Everyone felt happy for the opportunity to interact with the calming presence that Moro radiates, as well as getting fresh air.
